In Empty Selfies I asked for selfies from friends and family and then digitally erased each person. The resulting selfies are both empty and full, present and absent, there and also not there. They respond to the current moment of constant self monitoring through zoom and a deep loneliness caused by the pandemic. In each Empty Selfie I can see the disembodied dislocation that I have felt this past year.
